With the V-Pac™ Mechanical Packing System you will be able to seal equipment with mechanical packing by die-forming in-place and provide superior sealing performance, lowered costs and longer equipment life.

About the V-Pac™ System: The V-Pac™ Mechanical Packing System allows you to die-form in-place during installation. This helps eliminate leak paths that exist between rings of packing and at the packing cut joint. After die-forming in-place, the packing becomes a homogeneous mass of sealing material (photo above). The V-Pac™ spacer aids flush by assuring the integral lantern ring remains aligned with the flush port unlike traditional packing where the lantern ring tends to migrate toward the bottom of the stuffing box. The superior lubrication of the provided Slade™ packing in combination with the V-Pac system assures that only light pressure on the packing is required to maintain an excellent seal, minimize shaft or sleeve wear and lower amperage requirements. (Parts included in complete V-Pac™ Mechanical Packing System for ANSI End Suction Pumps) Typical installations require only 3 rings of packing. A “guard” ring of jacketed packing can be used in slurry applications. Inventory requirements are lowered as you only need to stock packing. Labor cost and technical requirements are lower as compared to traditional packing and mechanical seals. In emergency situations, you can reverse the V-Pac™ flange which allows you to operate temporarily until an additional ring can be installed.
